Shri Bijolia Tirth:

Mulnayak: The natural mulnayak idol of bhagwan parsvanath is missing from this place. the idol of Tirhanakaras are installed in this temple

How to Reach: Bijolia is 224 Kms from Udaipur and 85 Kms west of Kota near Uparmal tehsil in Bhilwara district.Boarding and lodging provisions are there.

Historicity: The legends goes that one seth named Lolark had come to Bijolia and he had a dream when Yaksh Nagendera came in his dream and told him that lord parsvanath is coming there and he should built a temple . His wife also had a similar dream. The seth went to the specified place and on digging found the attractive idol of Bhagwan parsvanath ji. the idols of Yakshi padamavati; Kshetrapal; ambika jawalamalani and Dharendera were also found. The temple was built by seth lolark under the guidence of his guru Jinchandra suri. the temple was built on 3 day (thrusday) of dark moon of phalgun in vikram 1226. in the temple, on the entrance,one could see the 24 tirthanakar images with Bhagwan Parsvanath in the center. the idols of Bhagwan chandraprbh; neminath; mahavir and parsvanath are also there.This tirth is very important from the art and architecture and historical point of view because of numerous stone inscription giving details of local rulers and jain acharayas.

Menal :in the middle of beautifully wooded revives is a gorge of the Menal river and the ruins of what used to be the mountain retreat of thegreat Raja Prithviraj Chauhan. On the banks of river are the ruins of an ancient palace and a complex of beautiful temples dating 12th century. Nestling at the footsteps of a large craggy hill, Bundi, named after Bunda Meena, was established by Rao Deva in 1241 A.D. The large dominating complex of fort and palaces, hugging the steep hillside, is mainly made of two- Garh-Palace and Taragarh-Fort.

 Bhilwara receives electricity from Kota, Beawar, Rana Pratap Sagar and Nimbahera. All the 1,565 villages have been electrified.

Water

The main rivers in the district are Banas, Beduch, Kothari, Khari, Menaali, Unli and Meaj. The water table in the district is comparatively high between 10 to 20 meters. The ground water is fresh and potable. The district has about 86,600 wells and 56 tube-wells, providing drinking water and irrigation facilities.

Transportation and Communication

Road Transport:State Hightway (Jaipur-Udaipur) passes through the district. The total road length in the district is 3,883 kms as on 31 March 2000.

Rail TransportA meter gauge railway line measuring 84 kms., connects Ajmer with Khandwa and passes through the district. A broad gauge line has also been laid from Kota to Chittorgarh which passes through the district at Mandalgarh.
